My art training began at home when I was chastised by my parents for drawing on the walls! at the age of 11. From then I progressed to painting competitions with my sister in the long school holidays.
Prevented from taking drawing at school because I was “not good enough” I began to teach myself how to draw. Eventually gaining entrance to Art College where I studied Architecture then traveled the world for 5 years.
My Chart paintings were my way of combining Art & Architecture by drawing a 3 dimensional image on a two dimensional form.
My work has been exhibited in my home town of Edinburgh, London, Japan and the U.S.A. an in 2004/5 my wife Susan and I toured the U.S.A, Canada and the Caribbean, giving me enough sketch material to last a life time. |
